Description: A superb Japanese shin-hanga woodblock print, originally created and signed by Tsuchiya Koitsu (1870-1949), depicting the Sengakuji Temple at Takanawa in Tokyo, published by Doi Hangaten circa 1950s.
The print depicts a nighttime scene with a woman and her child carrying an umbrella and lantern. They are walking towards a temple through gentle rain, where another figure is silh...ouetted at the doorway. The print bears the signature and seal for Tsuchiya Koitsu lower left, and the publisher's stamp to the left edge.
The print is provided for sale unframed.
