This is a really lovely handcarved cameo that is set in a 9ct gold frame. It is clearly stamped 9ct, butwithout a full set of hallmarks it is impossible to date accurately, but fromthe overall style and limited hallmarks I would date this to the last quarterof the 19th Century (1880’s).The cameo, a carving of aclassical female Goddess in profile, is inexcellent condition, free of any chips or cracks, and the simple C-clasp is intact and functional. There will origina...lly have been a safety chain, but in manycases people found them to be more trouble than they were worth and so removedthem. It measures approximately 39mm x 33mm, and it weighs a tad under 5g.If you have any questionsthen please feel free to ask.
