For sale, a SCARCE TO FIND HISTORIC "PLANTATION COMPANY STORE" CIRCA 1880-1890's old uni-facial incuse stamped "good for" style trade token which actually says " 10 J. R. MAXWELL (JAMES ROBERT MAXWELL, PLANTATION)" , which was located in historic town of TUSCALOOSA, ALABAMATHE ORIGINAL OWNER SAID THIS TOKEN ABSOLUTELY USED AT THE "MAXWLL PLANTATION STORE" IN HISTORIC TOWN OF TUSCALOOSA ALABAMA. JAMES ROBERT MAXWELL STARTED THIS PLA...NTATION AROUND 1852...FAMOUS HISTORIC SITE....TOKEN IS EARLY STYLE The historic town of Tuscaloosa is located in Tuscaloosa County, west of Birmingham and Montgomery AlabamaThis came out of a small collection of Alabama tokens...I do not own a Alabama token catalog, so have no data on this token, but was told this was absolutely from Maxwell Plantation in Alabama.Trade token is brass metal, round shape, about 29mm in diameter early uni-facial incuse style, and it displays very nicely.
