"The Flying Buzzsaws" of the 41st Fighter Squadron of the 35th Fighter Group during WWII. They flew P-35 Seversky's, P-38 Lightning's & P-39 Airacobra's while assigned to the unit. The 35th Fighter Group was shipped to Australia January of 1942 and were some of the first Squadrons to take on the Japanese Air Forces in the Southwest Pacific. They earned the Distinguished (Presidential) ...Unit Citation and was the home of many Ace pilots. Major Richard Bong, USA's Ace of Ace's, became an Ace while flying with the 35th Fighter Group.
Large original 5-1/4" WWII patch with chenille front and felt back. In very good/excellent condition. Looks like it was never sewn to anything. Has a small round hole near perimeter edge. See photos.
