In numerous successful wars he expanded the Tsardom into a huge empire that became a major European power. According to historian James Cracraft, he led a cultural revolution that replaced the traditionalist and medieval social and political system with a modern, scientific, Europe-oriented, and rationalist system.Reign: 7. May 1682 - 2. November 1721 (co-reigns, with Ivan V, 1682-1696)

REVERSEThe coin depicts the Emperor Peter the Great. The character offsets itself from the finely engraved background, due to the applied color. Also, the coin is embellished with 24k gold-plating and two blue crystals. The name of the Emperor, as well as the number of the coin, is punched into the edge of the coin. OBVERSEThe obverse features the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. It is surrounded by beautiful ornaments, which give the coin a very special touch. PACKAGINGThe coin comes inside an elegant and rich wooden box, which is made from parts of real Karelian Birch. It is in a beautiful case, which is doing a great job in staging this remarkable coin. The Certificate of Authenticity (matching the number of the coin) is displayed on the inner packaging. First coin in the series!
