Rare, HTF 1958 Sanyo 6C-8 transistor radio complete in box with leather case, instructions, earphone in case, and shoulder strap.
Excellent cosmetic condition with just very light signs of use and no dents, scratches or damage. The leather case is like new and perfect, and the extra shoulder strap looks still factory rolled. The box has minor shelf wear, but all box seams are tight and the hinge is solidly glued and stiff. For the included earphone, a couple of pieces of plastic hav...e broken off of the earphone's plug, and a wire has come unsoldered.
However, the radio does not work. With a battery in it, there is a small burst of static when turned on, but no sound. With a modern earphone plugged into the rear speaker jack, I can hear a bit more static as I wiggle the volume, but no reception. Given that the radio appears to have seen very little use, and then stored in the box for decades, it's possible that some contacts inside have oxidized from age, and a good cleaning might get it working again. Even so, very rare to find this radio with the box, instructions, and accessories, and would be a great addition to a collection.
