VINTAGE MID CENTURY J.T. ABERNATHY CERAMIC STUDIOS JAPANESE STYLE BOWL CIRCA 1960
Being offered today is a beautiful mid 20th century, hand-thrown bowl created by J.T. Abernathy of Ann Arbor, Michigan. The piece is in wonderful condition with no chips or cracks and rings true when tapped. The bowl is believed to date to 1960 and has a thick, rich glaze inspired by Japanese pottery glazes seen on bowls and cups used in tea ceremonies.
The piece measures 7.5 inches (19 mm) at i...ts widest and is 3.5 inches (9 mm) tall. It is marked on the base with a strong JT mark as well as a rare early J.T. Abernathy Ceramic Studios label. It is a beauty. Please see photos.
