This lot is a Playboy key issued between 1960 and 1965 and was used a membership ID and charge token. Seller has collected charge coins and credit pieces for over 35 years, and is a Member of the American Credit Card Collectors Society. If you win this lot you will receive the key and information about the number of keys sold using that prefix, and the per centage of the total keys offered. Seller has purchased Playboy keys on Ebay for over 14 years and has tracked information about essentially all Playboy metal keys offered on Ebay during that time. Over that period approximately 2800 keys have been offered, and most sold, especially during this period after the passing of Hugh Hefner. Seller has kept information about not only each individual key, but also tracked the relative distribution of keys among the various prefixes (clubs) and the information about numbers on the head and shaft.The Prefixes which have been used by the Clubs, in the order they were opened were: C (Chicago- opened February 29. 1960 ; F- Miami, Florida; NO. -New Orleans; SL – St. Louis; NY- New York; PA- Phoenix. AZ (often incorrectly attributed to “Pennsylvania”); BL - Baltimore; KC- Kansas City; LA- Los Angeles; J- Ocho Rios Jamaica; BN - Boston; and SF San Francisco; The other prefixes include M, and E. There are claims that the M prefix was for the Manila, Philippines Club, or the Montreal Club or the Miami Club , and also that keys were acquired at the Cincinnati and Atlanta Clubs with the same “M” prefix. Keys with the “DE” prefix are also attributed to the non-existent “Denver” Club, more than likely the Detroit Club. . Other claims are that the “W” prefix was issued from the Lake Geneva Club, or the Cincinnati Club. NOT available for buyers outside the United States for reasons well known to US Sellers.
