Up for sale is a very high quality antique 19th century French ebonized wooden jewelry box.it's embellished with applied gilt bronze ornaments throughout that are extremely elaborately cast along with cut mother of pearl jewels on the lid.the lid also has a hand painted circular medallion set in the center which is painted by hand with an enameled figural scene.it's beautifully lined with a tufted purple silk and has a locking mechanism on the front with a bras...s skeleton key.it has very unusual feet that are hand wrapped in ivory colored silk and brass studded.the box is in nice antique condition and measures 7 1/2 inches long by 5 1/2 inches wide by 4 inches tall.it has some impressed spots by the key hole, the lid has a very slight warp, and the key does not lock the mechanism.
