The Patch: This auction is for One WWII Original II Corps patch with a white back. This patch is in good condition. It has a very nice white backing. This patch does not glow under the UV light and is guaranteed to be authentic. II Corps patches are very desirable and are getting harder to find. Don't lose out on your opportunity to own this great piece of World War II history.The History: II Corps was activat...ed in August of 1940. The Corps first saw actions during Operation Torch, the invasion of North Africa, November 8, 1942. The Corps fought at Kasserine Pass and El Guettar before launching attacks into Northern Tunisia. It was commanded by General Patton while it served in Africa The corps next moved to Sicily and helped the Seventh Army fight its way into Messina. II Corps next fought on mainland Italy. They were given the task of attacking the center of the German Winter Line, which they broke in January of 1944. They fought forward and linked up with the units that assaulted Anzio in May of 1944. The Corps was among the units that entered Rome on June 4, 1944. They continued fighting in Northern Italy until the surrender of German forces in Italy on May 2, 1945..Please read my auction requirements.
