Vintage Sinclair MTV1 multi-standard portable television in good condition with the original Box, original power AC adapter, Car Adapter, Earphones, Screen Shade, Soft Case and other accessories detailed below. Powers up with a narrow display as shown and I didn’t hear any sound. Cosmetically it shows light use and wear to the body but the telescoping antenna is straight with top cap. I will include a legible download of the instructions that I found on the web. This was acquired wit...h all the original packaging foam in place, but it decayed so badly, I discarded it. Sold as-is, as found with no returns or partial refunds, but guaranteed to be as shown & described for parts, spares, repair or display prop. Cool and fairly rare early miniature television. From the web: This was a revolutionary design, based around a tiny 2-inch cathode ray tube specially made by Telefunken. However, what set it really apart was the fact that it was the first multi-standard (USA-EUR-UK 525/625-line), multi system (VHF/UHF) portable television - meaning that it could be used anywhere in the world. It was also small enough to fit in your pocket, but when it went on sale in the UK it was just too expensive (at $400) and the picture was really too small to watch comfortably. Recently Fed Ex and the other carriers have dramatically increased costs when factoring even a small amount of dimensional weight (size of the box). What used to ship for weight alone such as a table radio is now several dollars more and a stereo component box now can cost double what it used to.
