"Sanator" Violet Ray Machine with 23 glass attachments A fantastic electric shock therapy / violet ray machine dating from the early to mid 20th Century, contained in its original suitcase with a huge amount of original glass probes. Without doubt the most extensive set I have ever seen. There is a large power pack with a dial selecting the intensity. There are two cables, one with a plug and the other with the applicator on. The machine comes with 23 glass attachme...nts for conducting the electricity through including a hairbrush, coloured probes and one labelled 'neon'. They glow violet when used which is where the name of the machine comes from. They are all stored in the velvet lined box on individual brackets apart from the hairbrush. There is one empty bracket, perhaps they can be re-arranged to fit the brush or perhaps one is missing. The case is covered in a brown leather look rexine with metal latches on the front and a carrying handle. The case is in good order and is strong and sturdy but we do not have any keys. Approximate Measurements :Height of box : 5" (13cm) Width : 18" (46cm)Depth : 11" (28cm) I have tested the machine and it does work (see attached photo). However it is being sold as seen and as a decorative collectable item rather than a working scientific instrument. I would certainly recommend professionally rewiring if it were ever to be used. Overall it is in good condition for its age. The case has some light scuffs and marks picked up over the years but nothing major. Inside, the box is nicely presented and all the glass apparatus are in good condition with no breakages or obvious damages and the applicator tube is in good condition.
