This booklet was produced by the Missile and Ordnance Systems Department of General Electric. It includes information about the Army's guided missile program and includes images of the record-breaking Bumper missile test in 1949 and the Nike missile test at White Sands Proving Ground.
Included with this booklet is a 45 rpm record of the Bumper Missile launching that ...set world record for altitude-velocity. This record is marked MRR 322 and is about 3-4 minutes long. It includes a recording of part of the countdown and the launch itself. This is a single-sided record.
There is no date marked on the booklet or the record.
This booklet and record are in nice condition - There is some corner/edge wear to the booklet and a small stain to the inner back cover/last page. There is a small tear on one of the back pages and the pocket that holds the record was reattached with tape at one point. The record is in VG condition - the playable side has some light marks from being placed in and out of the sleeve. There is some light crackling/popping that can be heard during the soft parts. There is some scuffing to the back side, which is smooth and not playable. The label is clean and intact.
