Up for auction is a 1923 $1 Silver Certificate Bank Note. According to the notation on the envelope that the bill was found in, it was the first dollar taken in at the "Terrill Inn" in Plainfield, N.J. on January 13, 1925. There is also a notation that in June 1939 the establishment was known as "The Inn" and in 1943 it was known as the "Brumbles Inn". It is a large "horse blanket" note measuring 7.375" x 3.125". Unfortunately, there is an old label attache...d to the bill (pictured) that could probably be soaked off by someone who knows how to preserve money. Otherwise the note is in fairly good condition, considering it was circulated for 2 years prior to being archived. Please look carefully at the photos for seal type, signatures, serial numbers, and other information used to evaluate Silver Certificates bank notes. Shipping is free unless you want the item insured. Then please contact me at the close of the auction before paying so I can update the invoice to include insurance cost. Thank you.
