Stunning Vintage Hal David Berger Flared Studio Glass Vase, 1997
This hand blown vase was created by Hal David Berger (1950–2003), Emporia, Kansas in the year 1997.
It's a heavy vase, with very thick glass, in an irregular--almost triangular--two-sided flaring form, standing on a pedestal base.
The exterior is very clear heavy crystal or leaded glass. The decoration is applied to the interior--large swirls of teals, blues, magentas, bronzes. Each side has a loosely pulled sc...roll or rib of thick clear glass applied as a sculptural accent. Nicely executed; this vase is very colorful and has a nice presence.
Dimensions: 11-1/4" high x 8" wide (at the widest) x 3-1/2" deep; 6-1/2" wide x 3" deep at the rim; the base is 3-1/4" in diameter.
Inscribed on the base: "Hal David Berger 97"
This in excellent condition, with some wear to the base and a few light surface scratches.
Note: The hot spots and reflections are from the overhead lights.
