Stanley Bailey No. 8 Wood Plane
This plane measures about 24 inches long and about 3 1/8 wide.Both wood handles look very good.There is some wear and marks in the thick varnish.The front handle has a bit of white pai...nt on it. The black paint is pretty much intact with only a few mars or scratches. The unpainted parts of the plane are nice, with some patina, no heavy rust or pitting.No deep marks or deep scratches.This plane is pretty clean.The blade looks good with no nicks, might need a bit of touch up sharpening.The blade adjustments work well.There is a casting flaw or something on the plane base on the top side. I am not sure what it is, see the 6th picture showing it.It measures about 1/8 wide and .050 deep. There is another much smaller pit, that looks irregular in shape.Overall this plane is in better than average condition for such an old plane.There was a piece of paper with this plane that states it is a Stanley Bailey Type 14 1929-1930 possible type 17 tote.
