NTC KB - 6153EA Alps SKCM Blue Vintage Mechanical Keyboard, USB
Item History & Price
"KNC Electronics" branded NTC KB-6153EA keyboard.
Alps SKCM Blue clicky switches.
It has an XT/AT switch.
It was rebuilt, including:
Disassembled and cleaned. Every switch was disassembled, cleaned and checked.
Mounting plate was sanded and repainted (light grey).
12 of the original switches had broken pins, so they couldn't be soldered back. I replaced them with brand new APC Taihao switches (Alps clones). I placed these in the F row (see 3rd photo), so they do...n't affect overall typing experience too much.
Converted to USB with Soarer's converter. Original DIN cable is included, so this modification is easily reversible. Converter is configured and ready to use. Cable is 1.8m long (~1.7m usable length).
There is some slight yellowing, and it's a bit of incosistent on top of the case (please see photos).
Some keycaps are worn out and shiny (they're pad printed ABS, not the most durable type of caps). Some legends were scraped off, probably in an attempt of modifying layout. Stabilizers are fine and this is only a cosmetic issue.
Since the keyboard is over 30 years old, I can not guarantee anything in terms of reliability and longevity. So far, it's been working flawlessly.
I will include 3 spare switches (APC Taihao).
The photos are of the actual item.
Feel free to ask if you need any additional info.
