I have up for auction an antique 7" tall tin mechanical bank or money box made in Germany by Saalheimer & Strauss around the late 1920's or early 30's. The mechanism is activated by lifting his sporran. He sticks his tongue out and closes and opens his eyes. A coin is put on the tongue and when you push the sporran down he swallows the coin and closes and opens his eyes again. The paint is in very good condition and the mechanism is working. It is marked DRGM Germany and has an SS ...in a circle near his left foot. The key for the lock is working and included. International bidders outside the US and Canada please request a shipping estimate.
