All rights reserved Cufflinkking ©1998 - 2019 Up for sale is a vintage pair of silver battleship cuff links. Each pivot link has an oval 90% silver plaque of the historical ship SS Groote Beer, formerly named the SS Costa Rica Victory for its viewing side. This ship was a troopship towards the end of WWII and then sold to Holland American Lines to be converted into an emigrant passenger ship and finally scrapped in 1971.The links are stamped on the shanks: a crown, HH and 90 with no additional marks that I can find. The cuff links measure approx. 3/4" x 1/2" and were probably made circa 1950. They are in good vintage condition with above mentioned observations and I consider
these cuff links historically important.

Hello Cufflink Collectors! This guide for those of you who have small to medium link collections and are contemplating going to the next level. As with any serious collection, one must have a direction or focus. When I started in the late 70's, my voracious appetite for these little jewels was in a million different directions at once and has continued to this day as reflected by the links I sell. For those of you who are becoming more more serious about collecting cufflinks, you will have to choose a focus. A focus is goal that exists sometime in the near future. In my case in the beginning, it was to own 100 pair; this has changed many times over the years and is still evolving. For example, my focus or goal at present is to organized an accountable archive of cufflink photos, descriptions and sales records as a reference guide. This has been a slow process for it began when a gentleman emailed and wondered why I did not have a glossary; thank you for that request and if you will remind me of your name I will give you your props.Your focus could be to collect a specific designer, era, technique of manufacture, material, subject, closing mechanism, age, style or purpose; all of which I have journeyed over the last 30 years. As a collector, you can create a collection that is one of a kind and has never been done before quite the way you've done it and with good documentation will serve as a kind of immortality for its creator. The above is only one example and as mentioned prior, one can put together a link collection focusing on any aspect or sub-aspect in this vast arena. For example: One could only collect Toshikane flower cufflinks or just Toshikane figural cufflinks or Toshikane snap links or Toshikane cufflinks with sterling backs or single-sided Toshikane cufflinks, etc. This can be done with every category of cufflink imaginable. I have done this process many, many times and have put together large collections that have multiple sub-collections within the collection. Here are a few focus groups you may want to consider:Antique Links, Car Cufflinks, Swank Links, Links Made Of Wood, Figural Cufflinks, Anson Links, Paper Weight Links, Photograph Cufflinks, Victorian Links, Arts & Crafts, Mid-Century Modern Cufflinks, Danish, Finish, Victoria Flemming, Cufflinks With Moveable Parts, Alan Adler Links, Button Converts, Carved Cufflinks, Deco Enamel Cufflinks, Art Nouveau Links, Watches, Miniature Games, Gambling Related Links, Dogs, Horses & Animal Cufflinks, Satsuma, Menuki, Coin Links, Cufflinks Owned By Famous Personalities, Gemstone Cufflinks
and the list goes on and on.I hope this guide has inspired you to create your own personal cufflink collection and please remember to photograph and catalog them as you go for trying to do this after the fact may prove to be tedious.Wishing you an exciting hunt!David All rights reserved Cufflinkking ©1998 - 2019
