Rare vintage NFL program from the Chicago Bears 1943 Championship winning team.
On Sid Luckman Day, the city of New York honoured their hometown hero, presenting him with two $1, 000 War Bonds before the game. The Bears QB repayed their kindness by throwing for a NFL record 433 yards and 7 TDs as the Bears destroyed the New York Giants 56-7 in front of 56, 000+ fans at the Polo Grounds.
Luckman completed 21 of 32 passes for 433 yards, with 7 TDs and 1 interception. Bears Ends Jim... Benton and Hamp Pool both caught 2 TD passes, with E Connie Berry, HB Harry Clarke & E George Wilson adding the other three TD receptions. Clarke also scored on a 4-yard TD run. Bears backup QB Bob Snyder kicked an NFL record 8 of 8 PATs to complete the Bears scoring, as the Giants only counter came from FB Carl Kinscherf on a 1-yard TD run in the 2nd Quarter.
Condition: GOOD-VERY GOOD. A light vertical fold runs throughout the program and there is other moderate handling wear throughout. The spine has been neatly repaired with tape and the front cover has a tick mark (ink) on it.
