This listing is for an original Young Lady's dress from the Civil War. It's made of vivid emerald green plaid silk t...affeta. The bodice is all original early 1860s and is beautifully constructed with a bias edging bound by piping all around the neckline. It's shaped by guaging at the waist. Lined in brown cotton, it fastens with hooks/eyes up the back. The skirt is also fully lined and was updated to mid 1860s. It retains its circumference and pocket, but was reduced in bulk at the waist. It's great for display, inspiration and study. It is NOT wearable.
Condition: Some discoloration and some scattered holes/wear.
Measurements are: The chest is about 34". The waist is about 23". The front length is about 38 inches.
