Found at an estate auction, this old fiddle is ready for someone's loving. Luthier's dream. Appears to be solid, just needs a little TLC, and a few parts, and some finish...Back measures 14". label inside says; Antonius Stradivarius Cremonenfis, Faciebal Anno 1716. There are 2 circles with a cross and A and S on each side of the cross. I tried to photograph it but didn't come out to well. Top is close grained spruce and back is 2 piece curly maple, sides are nicely flamed as well.... The case appears hand made and is very heavy. has interesting old latches. There was a broken bow which wasn't complete but we saved the lined frog and it is included. The photos tell all.
