I’m offering today an adorable large composition baby doll from my personal collection. This is a large baby doll with dark brown hair, composition head, arms and legs.
This is truly a beautiful doll and hard to believe she is what I would say from the 1930's era. I will start at the top of the doll and work my way down so as not to omit anything in my description. Starting at... the top of her head, she has dark brown hair which I added to her dark brown molded head. The top of her composition was starting to show it's age, so I added this adorable baby wig. She is wearing a precious pale pink baby bonnet by Petit Ami which matches her pale pink dress. I added a couple more rows of delicate ruffled lace around the brim of the bonnet to give it more fullness around her face. It looks sooooo cute! As you go down to her face, she has single brown line for eyebrows. She has bluish-green eyes which I believe are tin. The top of the eye lid has dark shading to emphasize her big sweet eyes. She has open/close sleep eyes with the original brown eyelashes. One eye has a slight craze line which as you can see it most difficult to detect. The eyes open and close freely and have such a precious look to them.
She has a dainty little nose with open nostrils for realism which flows down to her rose bud shape lips. There is a tiny dot on the tip of her nose. Her lips are painted bright reddish/pink color with two teeth peeking through. She has a felt tongue on the back side which is no longer done on dolls due to the expense and time constraints. Her lips have a bit of paint loss, but doesn't detract from the precious face. Her cheeks have beautiful coloring to blend well with her beautiful bright eyes.
Her head is composition as are her arms and legs. She has a firmly cotton stuffed muslin body which has darkened over these many years. It does not have odors and I have always tried very hard to keep her in climate controlled room. The back of her neck is not hallmarked which is not that uncommon for these older dolls. Many of them came with paper name tags attached to their arm when they were new. Unfortunately after all these years, it no longer remains with her.
Now to her adorable outfit I chose for her debut. This is an expensive dress by Petit Ami which most of you who dress these old dolls know it can be costly to have them look as they did many years ago. This pale pink dress has peter pan collar with delicate white lace trimming the edge of the collar. The dress bodice is smocked with tiny pale yellow and green flowers hand sewn into the smock design. Her sleeves are full which hit her just at the elbow region. There are buttons in the back to keep the dress securely on the doll. She is wearing the matching pink cotton Petit Ami bonnet which I added extra ruffled lace around the brim to give it more fullness around her adorable face. Under her dress she wears pale pink long pants with ruffles at the bottom hem line. She is wearing white socks with white baby shoes which I've added pale pink silk ribbon through the eyes and tied into precious pink bow on each foot. This adorable baby doll will come with her very own soft plush baby bear with rattler to keep her company.
She has been in my collection for many years and over the course of years I clean my dolls and try to avoid them from ageing by doing so. They are not played with by children who come and visit; I know that sounds mean, but sometimes they play too rough. My dolls are kept in a doll room specifically for them and are displayed for everyone to enjoy.
All my dolls are truly loved and cared for as though they were my children. Their clothes are either original to the doll, made by me, I've tried finding doll clothing from the same era as the doll or find clothing which match the personality of the doll. We do not smoke and I try very hard to keep a tidy clean home free of dust and odor. My dolls are clean and most of the time look as though they did when they were sold new. Depending on how old they are, I do try to be honest in detailing if some of the dolls have bruises, missing toes or fingers or other issues, but that doesn't mean they aren't worth having; for each one is like children.....they are all beautiful in their mothers eyes. If I've missed something it would never be intentional.

This is a large doll standing approximately 24" tall. Her little teddy bear measures approximately 10" tall.
CONDITION:
Please remember when considering this doll she is a very old doll and will not be perfect. I have tried to disclose everything I see with her, but I expect age issues with my older dolls or else I wouldn't have purchased them. She has a replaced dark brown baby wig, which may be human hair. The top of her molded hair was showing age, so I decided to upgrade her for her new mommy. She has a dot on the tip of her nose, which I have never touched up because of the character it displays on the doll. There is a very thin craze line under one eye which is most faint. I'm sure there are craze lines and fine cracks, but nothing serious. She wears expensive designer dress with matching bonnet. Her shoes are vintage from the 1980's but are new old stock from my personal doll shoe collection. She is ready to be displayed and loved for many more years.
