On offer is a beautiful item which I have been told by one collector that it is not genuine. I was under the impression that it was OK and I am still not 100% certain whether it is genuine or not - so will be selling it as a possible copy. The item ties up exactly with the illustrations for the 1726 coin in the Krause Catalogue – the 1727 coin is not pictured. It is a superb Grivna (10 kopeck) Plate Money of Catherine the Great. It is dated 1727 and is in EF condition. It ...measures 62mm x 65mm and weighs 167 grams. The condition is so good that it seems almost “too good to be true” but Numisbids sold a similar, but even better condition coin – see below link. The inscription and stamps are exactly similar to the two 1726 coins shown in the below links. Numista states one to be a “Non circulating coin”.Here is the link with a similar item with exactly the same inscription except for the date – 1726. Numista describes it as a “Non circulating Coin”.https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces102869.htmlThe next link shows a sale by NumismaBids of a similar item to the above in Brilliant Uncirculated condition.https://www.numisbids.com/n.php?p=lot&sid=1800&lot=2055Whichever it is it is a superb example of the die-maker’s art and would be a marvellous addition to any collection.Postage to America is $15.00Postage within Australia is $3.30Please contact me for postage to other areas – do not use eBay postage caculator
