Absolutely stunning 1930s cream white wedding gown in a shimmering bias cut satin, probably rayon. The dress features a beautiful self-collar, delicate smocking at the shoulder seams, and long tapered sleeves with gathered shoulders. The original, starched mesh, facing material is still in place at the shoulders of the sleeves which helps them retain their dramatic shape. The bodice has expertly styled seaming, a high, self-waistband extends up through the center of the bust and light ...gathering is in place on either side. One side of the waist is trimmed with a large floral bouquet. The skirt is slim through the hips and flares as it reaches the floor. It drapes and moves beautifully! The dress closes in back with self-fabric buttons and it has no label.
Condition: This dress is in nice shape for a garment that is over 80 years old. It does have rings at the underarms. On the inside of the fabric they are yellowed but on the outside they present more like a very slight variation in color or sheen so the difference is fairly inconspicuous. I hope the photos are helpful. It has one small yellowed mark on the back of the dress, and you will find the odd small, light mark (such as the one shown in the last photo) or light surface scuff of the sheen. It has a cluster of little spots on the back of the skirt, right at the hem. I feel like this looks huge and terrible in the photo but the picture is an extreme close-up, it's pretty mild in person as it's 1 square inch or less. The dress has no structural issues. It has no holes, tears, shredding, or thinning. It doesn't even have any seam separations. It does have some signs of its former life but it still has an exceptional, breathtaking presentation! The dress is offered as-is and as-found. I have done no mending or cleaning, it does not have musty odors.
