Rare Antique Victorian Dress Bodice Ca. 1867 - 1869 Floral Watered Silk

This is an ultra rare piece of Victorian fashion. It is a ca. 1867-1869 bodice/jacket of watered silk fabric in a vibrant floral pattern. This has been in my personal collection for a minute but I’m excited to see it go to someone else’s collection so that they can enjoy it as much as I have!!
It has shredding to the back neck area, both sleeves have varying degrees of damage to the silk, and there is some damage to the silk around the waist on the left side. These areas of dam...age can all be seen in the photos I’ve provided. I’m sure an expert can cleverly cover these damaged areas with some ruched silk velvet in a matching blue color. That was my original plan of restoration, but I just never found the time. Even though the silk has problems, the lace is all intact and very sturdy. Even the delicate bit of lace around the inside of the cuffs on the arms is in great condition.
The inside of the jacket is also in great condition. Seriously, the pictures do not do this jacket any justice. The fabric is just amazing to look at up close!
It might be a long time before you see a Victorian bodice in such a rare fabric offered on eBay again! Great for study and restoration!
