Pair of Vintage Lucas HF 1746 / 1748 Car / Bike Horns
Rare pair of Lucas HF 1746 5 Inch horns in seemingly good condition
Advertised as "spares / repair" as one is missing its' wires and I have no idea how to connect the other to a battery, even if I had one !
Although the horns are marked 6v, I have been told they can work with 12v systems, too....It just makes them LOUDER ! However, prolonged use is not advisable .
Please note: according to my research, the H...F 1746 model horn is a variant of the HF 1748 which was "weathered-proofed" for outside use - for instance, on a truck or motorbike.
These type of horns were used widely on top of the range marques - such as Jaguar.
The horns in this set are high and low tone (see numbers on backs) to give that desirable & distinctive quality of noise.
You are welcome to try out the horns before you buy - just bring a 6v battery and some wire !
