Barbini Murano Art glass ribbed gold-bubble ribs pearly sparkler 6" vase Perfect! Since the mid-fifties the Barbini glassworks has been making this specific kind of glass, usually in pearlescent off-white glass with a heavy cystal clear overcoat , with gold and controlled bubbles in between, like this vase, in many shapes and sizes, and usually ribbed. The neatness of the controlled bubbles and the symmetry of the all-over gold sprinkles determines how close to the master, A...lfredo Barbini, it was made. This one has very neat, equally sized and distributed bubbles and a somewhat reckless gold sprinkle application so it is probably from the right studio from the 1960s. This may have been a part of a vanity set since fresh flowers would look nice on the top of madam's dressing table along with bottles for cologne and bowls for rings, all in the same beautiful, sparkling glass. I've also seen a round ball version with a lighter inside. This jewel measures 6" high and about 3" across the base and mouth. The base isn't applied like the newer ones and the ribbing melds right into the solid glass base. This is a lovely, elegant vase, masterfully made!In near mint condition. Perfect!
