Men's Edwardian Hunting/Shooting Vest
For Auction: Stunning Edwardian Era men's wool hunting/shooting/outdoor vest. This is a gorgeous example of men's fashion of the early 20th century. The rich yellow is both vibrant and unique. What a treasure of antique fashion!
Era: Edwardian (Early 20th century).Material: Wool, Wool felt, Wool/Silk.Color: Yellow w/ CreamDetails: Braided / woven wool textile on front, dense wool felt trim in yellow on edging and pockets, vented sides, 6 ...brass button closure (Marked Pitt & Co. Maddox St. London), belted back (Brass belt marked "British" and "Make" with the makers mark), Wool/Silk blend back, wool plaid lining.
Measurements:
Chest: 38"Shoulder: 14"Front Length: 21" (shoulder to bottom "V")Back Length: 19.5" (neck to hem)
Condition: Excellent. There is some light soiling on the wool felt and the back of the vest (see pics). The inner lining has more soiling (see pics). There has been no attempt to launder this item. There is a small nick in the wool braid on the right side just above the bottom pocket. There are also 2 pin holes on back left shoulder (see pics). The fabric is all nice and strong. This piece is in amazing condition for its age.
