A used Sturmey Archer S5 internally geared 5-Speed rear hub. The hub is 36 hole for 20 inch muscle bikes. This is the cool 3+2 rear hub Sturmey Archer made that used the Twinshift shifter, one side for 3 speeds, the other for 2 speeds. I believe the 36 hole hubs were used on early Raleigh Chopper muscle bikes. The hub is used and needs a complete rebuild. The hub is loose and needs to be tightened, and the sprocket, nuts, and dust caps are missing from the hub. The hub shell may clean ...up fine, there is a lot of grease on it, but one area has a little rust mark. I don't have a way to check if it is in working order, so assume it will need to be rebuilt to be working. The hub is stamped Patents Applied and has a date code that appears to be 68 4. Perfect for an original bike needing the correct hub or rebuild it for your best restoration. Please email me with any questions.
