Original Description:
Vintage Old 49" Scythe Blade. I found this cleaning up in our yard after we moved into our 168 plus year old house. I have no idea how long it was laying in the weeds along the edge of the woods. It measures totally 49'' and has about a 47'' cutting edge. I could not find any info on blades that long.  You can see it's been sharpened quite a few times by the wear. It's rusted and pitted but remarkably still has a fairly good edge and probably could be sharpened. Cleaned up it woul...d make a nice display item. I cannot imagine wielding this long 49" blade in the field all day.
