Captain Jack brings you Vintage 1943 United States Steel Wheat Penny - Philadelphia Mint. To save precious copper for the war effort, the Treasury Department issued cents in this one-year-only composition. However, the metals used did not circulate well, and 1944 saw the return of the traditional copper cent. This is a great opportunity to own a coveted "steel cent" from Philadelphia..! The coin is ungraded but is a very high XF in extremely fine condition or better. Coin you see ...is the coin you get...!
