Great find here - an early stampless folded letter written December 6, 1813 by William Spencer in St Bart's - which he describes as being near Antigua in the Caribbean - and sent to his wife Deborah in Lyme, Connecticut - then forwarded from Lyme to Hartford with an rimless Hartford postmark - and eventually ended up in East Haddam. The letter was hand carried to the states by the "politeness" of Captain R. Lee.
