1787 stampless from Boston to Norwich CT, with straightline handstamp and "franklin" date mark in circle; small "free" handstamp; favor markign at lower left. Letter content with some accounting followed by business letter signed by Daniel Greene regarding the sale of wine (noting that the last 2 casks were sold only by certifying they were only good for vinegar, to eliminate excise tax). Recipient dudley woodbridge was the postmaster at Norwich and also a merchant.
