Unlike thetypical Coro Duette brooch or designs of similar ilk, however, which separateinto two dress clips with a detachable frame that is not wearable, this broochseparates into two dress clips PLUS a center brooch -- all three pieces can beworn at the same time or any of them can be worn separately-- an extraordinarydesign. The brooch is markedwith the patent #1852188. The patent number is one that app...ears on Coro Duettebrooches although this brooch is not a marked Coro design; the patent is held byE.A. Phinney. The brooch is stunning in its full size, and easily separatesinto three components -- two dress clips and a center brooch. The brooch is rendered in silver tonemetal adorned with clear and red rhinestones. Fully assembled, the brooch measuresjust over 2 3/4 inches wide by about 1 3/8 inches tall at the center. Each ofthe side clips measures about 1 1/4 inches tall by about 1 1/4 inches wide. The brooch is missing several stones, including one red emerald-cut stone. In all other respects, the brooch is inexcellent vintage condition. The low opening bid price reflects the fact thatsome stones will need to be replaced.
