Ickes (Secretary of the Interior under FDR) and a stamp collector friend of FDR, requested the sheets TAKEN FROM THE PRESSES PRIOR TO PERFORATING (he actually did purchase the two complete sets of she...ets). These stamps are from the original small group of the first 1934 printings (not 756-65), given by the post office to Ickes and from him one set went to Roosevelt. Of the 2nd set of sheets, a select group of friends also received the stamps - and this is the reason for the scandal that followed which is the well known "Farley's Follies".Never Hinged - Full Original GumEach with individual special 2015 "Ickes" PSE certificate.
