Measures approximately 11” x 8”. ANTIQUE NATIONAL SCHOOL SLATE CO. CHALK BOARDS SLATINGTON PA. USA 1800 1900's. “Germ Proof”. It is put together with a wood frame, edged in felt secured by nails and sturdy black thread. A piece of it is tied to a piece of the “book” . I guess just in case it was needed for repair. There is a spot where the felt edging has come away from the wood. Please see last photo. I have not cleaned the boards. I leave that up to you. One side has evid...ence of math and writing. There is also a ink spot on the top of the wood framing of one board. Most likely from a quill pen. There is also what looks like red crayon on one side of one board. That’s it for documentation.
