The game begins with each player having been baptized and being given merits. According to the instructions, "As play continues through the game the object lessons of life are taught. - Q: What is the eighth commandment? A: Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor. If answered correctly move 6 spaces.
- IF YOU PROMISE TO SAY THE ROSARY ONCE WITHIN THE NEXT WEEK YOU MAY MOVE TO ANY LOCATION ON THE BOARD DESIRED.
The game box contains:
- Instructions- Game board
- 4 player tokens (to move with)- 7 Buildings- "Merit" money- "Conditions for Building Properties" guide- Cards for question deck (still attached to each other)- Cards for merit deck (still attached to each other)- Cards for sacrifice deck (still attached to each other)- Cards for sacraments (still attached to each other)
It is in amazing condition for a game made in 1962! The box is also in very good shape (see photos), with just a few tiny scrapes and dents. All of the corners are unbroken. There is one piece of clear tape on the box, which I don't want to remove because I don't want to risk tearing the cardboard finish. The board is not completely flat (slightly curved) when opened (though the finish of it is mint)--my guess is that it warped slightly from having something heavy on top of this box for a long time (a dent on the top of the box corresponds to the slight bend of the board) and that if something else heavy was put on it for a while, it could be completely straightened.
I haven't seen another one of these games online that was so perfectly intact and clearly unplayed.
I am happy to combine shipping with other board games (or other items in general).
