Vintage 1960s Vox Hardshell Electric Guitar Case
Up for sale is this used and genuinely RARE guitar case made in Italy sometime in the early to middle 1960s by Vox. I have no idea which Vox guitar models it fits, but have included complete, detailed measurements below.
Some Specs:
* Plywood construction with dark gray Tolex vinyl covering
* Brass latches with chrome hinges on back
* Weighs 6 lbs. 12 oz.
* Exterior... Dimensions: 44 + 1/2" L x 14" W (max.) x 4" deep
* Int. Dimensions: 42 + 1/2" L x 13" deep. Width is 12 + 3/8" at the case's widest point, 8 + 3/4" at its narrowest (next to neck brace)
* Headstock cutout: 10" L x 7" wide at its widest portion
Condition:
Very good. This case has only a few of the usual scuffs and scars on the exterior, and a bit of dirt. There are no large rips or other damage. The top has a small circular stain (or sticker residue?) which may scrub off. Unlike the other very similar Vox case up for sale here on ebay, the handle and all hinges, latches, and feet are accounted for and working. The hardware has some typical relic surface rust on it.
Inside, the yellow velour still looks good, with less wear than usual. There are no odors present. Not that the neck brace cutout for the neck is 1 + 5/8" wide, but could be expanded by cutting the brace. There is padding at the top of the case for the guitar's neck, and some padding for the body that extends about 7" in from the end.
