Vintage 1920 ' S Girard Marx Toy Pressed Steel Mammoth Train Or Auto Wagon
Item History & Price
Toy is played with and does have oxidation/rust. Needs cleaning. Has a few missing tabs, so toy does not... hook together well. Toy is unmarked. All have yellow wooden wheels. Please see all pictures for detail, assets, condition and flaws. The last picture is not included, it is just information I found on line.
Please see my other auction for the Girard Auto Transport, and a plane also found with this toy. From Research:Frank E. Wood (1919-1922) founded the company (also known as Girard Mfg. Co. 1922-1935 and The Toy Works, 1935-1975) in Girard, Pennsylvania. Famous for their spinning tops, skates, banks, trains, trucks and military vehicles. In the late 1920s, Girard toys made Louis Marx a commission agent and for several years produced toys under the Marx brand label, along with its own line of steel autos, trucks, and trains, which were produced at Girard Motor Works.
