VINTAGE DARBYSHIRE AUSTRALIAN POTTERY KOALA AND BABY FIGURINE Click images to enlargeSUPERB EXAMPLE OF DARBYSHIRE POTTERYPresenting a fabulous vintage Australian pottery mother and baby Koala figurine produced by the Western Australian pottery, Darbyshire.This superb hollow formed example depicts a well modelled mother koala carrying her baby upon her back. The charming creatures n...estled within the stump of a tree. The koalas have been finished in a naturalistic grey glaze with cream and green tinges. Hand painted black nose, eyes, mouth and claws complete the piece.This piece is presented in as found condition with an old professional repair to the tip of the branch closest to the mother koala. A small section of the tip must have broken off and has been re-glued in such a professional manner it is near impossible to detect. It required extremely close examination with a magnifier for us to discover. It is near impossible for the naked eye to detect and most people would never notice this minor repair. This piece displays exceptionally well and makes a stunning feature.This delightful piece stands approx 95mms tall, measures 90mms in length and 50mms in width.
This piece retains its original Darbyshire label to the base.This superb vintage piece would make a fine addition to any Darbyshire or Australian Pottery collection
