Vintage NATF F-23 BLACK WIDOW II US AIR FORCE YF-23 GREY GHOST MUG USAFDescriptionVintage late 1980’s USAF Northrop McDonnell Douglas Team YF-23 F-23 Mug This was a McDonnell Douglas team members mug who assisted with building the prototype YF-23 fighter in the late 1980’s. The Northrop/McDonnell Douglas YF-23 was an American single-seat, twin-engine stealth fighter aircraft technology demonstrator designed for the United States Air Force (USAF). The desi...gn was a finalist in the USAF's Advanced Tactical Fighter (ATF) competition, battling the Lockheed YF-22 for a production contract. Two YF-23 prototypes were built, nicknamed "Black Widow II" and "Gray Ghost". Condition:Very used condition with scratches on graphics, some stains on outside. No chips, no cracks. Nice graphics. The bottom of the mug has shelf wear. Regardless of the condition and even though the YF-23 wasn’t chosen, this mug is a part of history for the Air Force and for the people who design and build the Advanced Tactical Fighters. That's what the mug represents.
