Up for auction is a 1930 United States Marine Corps History - Marine Barracks, Quantico, Virginia. 96 pages in length, this softcover measures 8" in W x 11" in L and is in good condition. There is, as per the photos, a bit of fraying on the spine cover. Overall condition is good, with the binding holding up well and the pages free of marks. There are some small stains indicating water damage.
Interesting tidbits from the manual that I never would have known ...- Quantico featured a polo team, the Marines performed a re-enactment of the Battle of Antietam in 1924, the first Marines were formed in Philadelphia in 1913, and Major General S.D. Butler was commissioned a probationary 2nd Lieutenant at the age of 17.
