Friday evening, 25. august 1944, 10.30 pmMy dear Bernhard !It's been 12 hours since you left. I'm lying down here on my new bed and can not sleep, because it is so warm and I am so sad. With Liese I brought Wilma and Heidi to the station this morning. On the way, on the way back Liesel said that she does not feel well. After we arrived at home, air raid alert came, but I put Liesel in bed and now she is lying there with fever. Hopefully she will be better tomorrow. I think it's because of the excitement because I could not calm her down when I came back after you left. I could always howl, but I have to calm down not to more upset Liesel. Hopefully I'll get mail from you soon, so I know what's going on. I have to know how you arrived, if you met Heinz Weber, etc. It would be good if you could stay there for a long time. Also ask about Rolf. Tonight I am very sad and hope that I get used to loneliness. It greets and kisses you your sad Luise and Liesel
Dear Bernhard!
The air raid alarm is just over. It is 1:30 in the morning and we wish you a good night. With the thought of you I will now try to sleep. It loves you, Luise and Liesel
