Rare Vintage Shimano Dura - Ace AX AERO Profile Seatpost

This is a pretty rare bird - the Shimano Dura-Ace AX aero profile seatpost. This is the one that was built to fit exactly into the wind cheating teardrop-shaped aero seat tubes that were the rage back then. This post measures 27.25mm along the length of the teardrop, and 18.55mm at the widest point. I believe the official literature says 27 x 19mm. The distance from the minimum insertion line to the middle of the saddle rails is right around 135mm. Includes the often-lost rubber ...gasket that sits on the post, right about the top of the seat tube.
This is a used seatpost that is in very nice condition. No frame scratches, and the finish is still smooth and lustrous. There is some very light wear here and there, the most obvious being the marks left by the frame-mounted tightening bolt. Overall, this is a rare post that is in worthy of that prized vintage bike.
