Antique Bisque German Doll Heinrich Handwerck Simon Halbig 2 1/4 Played With 19”
Item History & Price
Her eyes have been replaced and fixed in place. They are a bit small for her I think because the plaster shows through.
Her body shows her many adventures! Her paper mache torso is dented with missing paint but very firm. One of her legs is larger than the other and both legs have multiple cracks and chips to the paint. Her arms are in good condition but apparently to have been repainted. Both her hands have had repairs, on has a re-glued finger and you can see the crack in it, the other looks a bit chubbier and like it has had some re-sculpted fingers.
She comes wearing the clothing shown including:What I believe is a human hair wig that is a very pretty color, could be described a light reddish brown or perhaps a dark strawberry blonde. Also has an old cardboard pate. Wig and pate are loose so that I can pack the head for shipping.Undershirt
Pantaloons with lace trimEyelet lace slipA second satin slip (for winter perhaps)Dress made of at least a vintage fabric with blue velvet ribbons and bows.Black Satin bonnetVery interesting leather shoes. Have black elastic that may have been added later than the shoes were originally made. The leather has broken away from the elastic on one side of one shoe. Not certain of age on these shoes, possibly vintage -modern, possibly antique.
Checked with a light and did not find any evidence of chips or cracks in the head.
