The letters are dated 10/22 (from 1865 but year not included; camp "n...ear Ricksville"), 10/31/1865 (camp near Fredericksburg), and 7/11/1874 (on Great Atlantic Coastline stationery, from Jenkins to his wife while he is travelling). The letters are from John Jenkins to his wife, Nellie.
The first two letters speak of camp and battle life, talk about how he is afraid he won't be a good soldier anymore, and mention General Mead, Lee, and General Young (I believe he was in Gen. Young's company).
