Original Description:
Letters are in good antique condition.  See below for content details.  Two are from 1865 and one is from the same man to his wife in 1874.  The 1865 are written in pencil and some pages are difficult to read.  Three complete letters.  Fold marks; paper corner and edge wear and tearing.  Stains, discoloration.  Our home is smoke free.  Please see the photos for more details.
The letters are dated 10/22 (from 1865 but year not included; camp "n...ear Ricksville"), 10/31/1865 (camp near Fredericksburg), and 7/11/1874 (on Great Atlantic Coastline stationery, from Jenkins to his wife while he is travelling).  The letters are from John Jenkins to his wife, Nellie.
The first two letters speak of camp and battle life, talk about how he is afraid he won't be a good soldier anymore, and mention General Mead, Lee, and General Young (I believe he was in Gen. Young's company).
Our home is smoke free.  Please see the photos for more details.
We do our best to provide the most accurate depiction possible; please review all photographs before purchasing.  If we find flaws, they will be noted in the description. If you have a question about any of our items, please ask prior to purchasing.
