Original Description:
U.S.A. - ISSUE OF 1873 Continental Banknote with No Grill and Secret Mark  - 7c Orange Vermillion,   "Edwin Stanton", with a very light script cancel, Probably a Scott #160, but have it certified by the expert of your choice* -  WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) LOT: , This issue was printed by a private company that was awarded the printing contract in 1873 to replace the National Banknote Company who printed stamps from 1870 to 1871.  Continental used the sam...e dies but added secret marks to make a distinction between the prior issues *I highly recommend that you will send this stamp to a reputable expert to have it certified . Its costly but the higher catalog value makes it worthwhile. I purchased these stamps from established dealers at shows, stores, or enclosed in vintage collections owned by experienced collectors that I acquired over the decades I collected. This is genuine in my opinion but I will offer it at less than the Blackbook Price Guide value. I am posting front and back scans that shows every detail (micro mold or paper-hinge remnant included) and ink cancels. It's time to let go! 50+ years of stamp collecting, no heirs interested, their loss your gain! Doc says congestive heart failure grim prognosis, maybe a (couple+or-) years left, will not let estate buyers (ghouls) buy for next to nothing! I enjoyed the years building this almost complete US collection, I want someone who can truly appreciate these stamps get them, but don't wait you may not get another chance to get these rare old classics. More to come so keep an eye on my auctions.  A used 19th century U.S. stamp. This copy was picked from many copies for the most choice copy to be mounted in my personal collection, it has a nice script cancel, (see front & back scans). This is probably  a U.S. Scott number 160 but have it certified by a reputable expert to get it appraised and certified if I  had been a more wealthy collector I would have. It would appreciate the stamps catalog value. My legacy to you. Bidding starts at less than Black Book's Price Guide value of $85 and with no reserve. It is a  used stamp with a light unobtrusive pen cancel that does not rudely intrude into the design, a perfect or near perfect centering, and pulled perforations (see scans). What You See Is What You Get (WYSIWYG). = sold AS-IS,  for its cancellations specialty, unique design anomalies, oddities, or historical interest. See scans of front and back, I COMBINE WINNING AUCTIONS FOR ONE LOW S/H COST! Please check my other auctions are loaded with other great topical stamps and collectibles! I will combine with other auctions that end within a week based on weight & destination. BUYERS: I accept an electronic check, credit card or other form of payment via PayPal. Auction(s) shipped upon receipt of payment. eBay policies compel me to INCREASE U.S.P.S. POSTAGE because EFFECTIVE JUNE 2017 eBay WILL REQUIRE TRACKING ON 95% OF U.S. ORDERS, TRACKING IS A U.S.P.S. PARCEL POST SERVICE WITH A MINIMUM COST OF $2.68 WHICH WILL MAKE ME INCREASE MY U.S. SHIPPING COST. LIKEWISE I WILL HAVE TO USE A U.S.P.S. TRACKING LABEL INSTEAD OF POSTAGE STAMPS. This policy is pushing low-end retail U.S.  hobby collector sellers & buyers out of the marketplace  (sorry U.S.  collectors you are not protesting loud enough!). Once eBay was the perfect place to sell stamps, first day of issue covers, other historic postal covers, postcards, obsolete currency, and other flat paper ephemera. Now U.S. buyers will pay more S/H than foriegn buyers. eBay policies no longer  favor hobby sellers who could sell flat items at more reasonable prices for more reasonable S/H fees. If you have an issue with higher U.S. shipping & handling cost increases please feel free to comment to eBay. GOOD NEWS FOR CASH BUYERS: You can instantly add cash to PayPal with a MoneyPak - no bank account or credit card required. Thanks for visiting my auctions!
ALL BUYERS: Registered, priority, express or insured mail costs are the responsibility of the buyer if desired. Email seller upon auction close for standard rates to your location. Therefore, the Buyer needs to be aware that their registered address is current to avoid lost or misdirected mail.
