OBJECT// Antique Chinese carved Wood Chop Seal of simple stylised form with a stunning and highly intricate carved reign/seal mark to the bottom, im not sure what the mark says so more information always welcome, to the top we see one engraved bold old Chinese character, Chop Seals are at the very centre of artistic Chinese tradition and trace there origins right back to the birth of ancient China, very much a Scholars object, the design is practical, refined and subtle, genuine Chinese antique dating from the Qing Dynasty, 18/19th century in date, superb colour and patina, serious collectors object.
