This is a late 1950s vintage promotional booklet from Western Electric Company, "White Alice" which was the code name given by the U.S. Air Force to Alaska's new communications system "as part of the continent's air defense" described as "a vital part of the continent's air defense - enabling combat centers of the Alaskan Air Command to receive reports of aircraft detected by the Distant Early Warning Line of radar outposts north of the Arctic Circle." The booklet m...easures 6" x 9", black & white, illustrated, 24 pages, complete and is undated but states that completion is scheduled for 1958.
